How does this storybook compare to LPGA-branded merchandise as a bulk gift for a fan community?

A storybook and official tour-branded merchandise both have a place as bulk gifts for an LPGA fan community, and they meet different needs. Branded merchandise, hats, towels, mini flags and similar items, connects fans directly to the tour and the players they follow, and that direct connection is valuable and worth keeping as part of any fan gift lineup.

*Once Upon a Golf Swing* offers something merchandise generally cannot, a way to bring the sport into the lives of the fans’ youngest children. The 62-page book, written for ages three to six, follows Ace, a new golf ball who gets lost on his first swing at Whispering Pines and finds friends in Daisy, Sandman, Splash, Speedy and Rangey. A hat or a towel does nothing for a fan’s toddler, while a storybook gives that same fan a way to start building the next generation of viewers.

Merchandise can also feel repetitive across a season of watch parties, since fans often already own several branded items. A book at $29.97 hardcover or $14.97 softcover, or a $9.97 audiobook for the car, is less likely to duplicate what a fan already has at home. The two are not competing for the same purpose. Merchandise keeps the fan connected to the tour on tournament day, while the storybook keeps the sport alive at home between events, in a child’s bedtime routine or a car ride.
